Hello, All About Me!

My Story

What a privilege it is to help raise and guide the next generation! Life is a

journey of continual growth, and as adults, we too have the chance to evolve, learn

new things, and offer our best selves to those around us. For me, this has always been about fostering the development of children while also nurturing the parents who support them.

I’m Ms Flora, originally from the UK, and I’ve called Hong Kong home for over 10 years. With more than two decades of experience working with children and families, my role has always been one of support, guidance, and connection. It's truly a joy to be part of so many young lives, helping them discover their potential and find their path.

My journey started at a young age, and I always knew my future would revolve around children. For one of my final projects at school, I created a child’s Snow White costume from scratch – a simple yet meaningful moment that set the stage for what was to come. After school and after much research, I came across the Montessori approach and made the decision to dive into this philosophy full-time.  Looking back, I can confidently say this was one of the best decisions of my life.

Moving to London, I completed my Montessori course while simultaneously working in schools, gaining valuable experience. Over the next eight years, I taught using the Montessori Method and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), always striving to foster independent, confident, and capable children. But teaching wasn’t my only role. I was also a nanny, babysitter, and tutor, both in and around London and beyond – from Northumberland to Cornwall, and even in France and Spain. These roles allowed me to form close bonds with families, supporting not just the children, but also the parents, offering guidance on how they could best support their little ones.

While I loved my time in London, one rainy Saturday afternoon, I stumbled across a job ad for a position in Hong Kong. Without having ever set foot in Asia, I took a leap of faith and moved across the world, arriving in Hong Kong on my birthday. While I missed the UK, my family, and friends terribly, this new chapter in Hong Kong proved to be nothing short of life-changing. I've now been here for over 10 years, and in that time, I have had the privilege of working at a bilingual Montessori school for eight years.

After that, I decided to shift my focus towards working more personally with children, offering one-on-one and small group sessions that provide them with the opportunity to truly flourish. This change has been incredibly rewarding, as it also allows me to work closely with parents. I offer guidance, advice, and support when needed, helping them navigate the complexities of parenting while fostering a nurturing environment at home.

For me, fostering strong relationships with both children and parents is at the heart of what I do. It’s not just about teaching; it’s about connecting on a personal level, guiding families through their individual journeys, and empowering children to reach their full potential. Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the development of those around me – and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey!
